i found a jonsered 49 sp saw here locally that run good and all and was wondering if it was a good saw? I cant find any info on cc's or anything of it.
Good saw. 49cc made in the late 70's and early 80's. They are descended from the Jonsered 50, 51, and 52 saws in some manner. Not exactly sure how though, but some parts are interchangeable between the models.

Yep, i think they cross polinate with Pioneer/Partners of the 500/5000 era too?
:agree2: the 49 sp is a real sweet little saw (My opinion) as plantbio stated they are of the same family as the 50,51 and 52 all 49cc saws. They are light duty open port, single ring 49cc. The 52 is set up like the 621 (closed port double ring and the same ignition ie. more heavy duty) I bought my first 49sp new in fall of 1977 and it finally died in its sleep many years later. Parts like pistons are hard to find. A number of people on here have used pistons from a 52 with good luck however I weighed them and found a little over 11 grams different (52 heavier) seems like that's alot balance wise. Anyway the Acres site will give you all the specs. However he does not state points settings or timing specs more or less inferring they were electronic ignition. I have 5 49s and they are all points ignitions. Good quiet solid saws.
They were a little before that era. They were true Jonsereds. I think they would cut just as fast, despite being a few years older.
My dad bought his used in the the late 70's, and used it as his primary saw until he got his 70E. They are good little saws for sure. I love it.
In their day they made the old SXLs and 10-10s look pretty slow, loud and caveman.

Hello... Can You Give Me Mikes Web site Address ?Check out Mike Acres site, you should be able to get the info that you are looking for, or someone here will have the specs. The 49SP is a good saw I have one that I use for cutting firewood around the house. It's built like a tank but it's tough and keeps on going.
