Going to be getting a dolmar 7900 and was wondering who on here does muffler mods for these and how much would it cost?:help:

Thanks,
Scott

I really like how Eric Copsey does his muffler mods, it is simple and not home made looking yet effective. I don't have any pictures of mine that I can find...

I do have one with the ultimate muffler mod...

15-20 bucks in parts from a local Husqvarna dealer and a half hour of time. You will need a 288xp deflector kit, dremel with a cutting wheel to cut your new port and a drill to mount the new deflector with screws.

No, 7900's are CAT-free, but there is nothing to be gained by MM a stock 7900. Leave the muffler on this particular saw alone unless you are porting it. Besides, if you don't know how to tune a saw with a limited coil, you are playing with fire.

My 7900 is stock except for the HD filter. It does pretty good. 24" factory B & C

:agree2: On a stock 7900 the only thing a MM does is make it louder.;)

I agree with this, but I still do what I describe in post #4 because it's simple and no extra noise. Not to mention satisfy the urge to do "something" to it.

I was wondering if nmurph, andyshine, blsnelling, one of the Dolmar dealers, or one of the other saw cranks on here can explain the difference and the different procedure for tuning the limited coil saws.
