I'm new here and looking for a little help. So please be easy on me. :hi: I have been stalking this place and reading for the past year and it looks quite helpful.

So I just picked up a Homelite 410 from a family member. It's been sitting for about 5-7 years with gas in the tank. It sat a year or two, was attempted to start, it didnt, so it sat even longer, hense the 5-7 years. What should I be looking at? My plan is to clean the carb, replace the intake boot and a couple other gaskets. Fuel lines look okay but if its recommended to replace them I will. Anything I should know about this saw? I can't find the manual, what are the specs for the H/L screws so I can take them out and clean the holes? Whats the starting process? Or does someone have a manual they could share?

So far its missing a dog tooth screw. All 4 screws for the air guide, 1 screw for the starter cover. Two of the AV screws were loose and almost fallen out. I'll check the local hardware store tomorrow for the missing ones, I have the sizes to go off at least. So far I have the two intake gaskets ordered, new fuel filter, intake boot, and gas cap gasket. It looks like someone ran it for a while with no intake gaskets. But the carb intake looked okay and everything cleaned up fairly well. If anyone thinks I should replace anything else to get it running please let me know. This is my first saw I've attempted to restore. Though I did fix a friends straight gassed MS250 so this should be easy.

Another problem is I think the throttle lock isnt working as it doesnt hold the carb open but it does click back when you press the throttle and it pops out. Is it working or is it not?

It has spark. I have not checked compression yet. I will try to do that tomorrow, the piston looks great(but the top is rusted, leave it or options?). The bar is rusted, the chain has some rust but is still loose and free. Its the original homelite bar as well. Pictures of everything below. Once it is all back together from finding a few replacement parts I will post more photos.

- Matt

Edit: Compression tested 150.
