It wasn’t serviced. It was inspected for warranty I think. And they didn’t put things back together.I was trying to figure out what service a saw would need that required taking any screws out.

I understand after reading the thread. If they were a Stilh dealer they would quote him a price for repair. It wasn’t serviced. It was inspected for warranty I think. And they didn’t put things back together.
I have 2 009L, one was abandoned, one was running. Clean the abandoned one from gas tank to carburetor, now both of them don’t run. I looked at an old thread about this model on this site, seems to me the electrical issue all over again. So yeah electrical problems occur often and I’m barely 1 month into chainsaw. It never ceases to amaze me how many problems with gasoline-powered chain saws are electrical and not fuel related. If the coil or spark is bad, one way or the other, there is nothing that will allow the saw to run. Sometimes we forget this. My rule of thumb is to check the spark of any non-runner first. Just MHO.
Yeah I’m not that high level to diagnose the whole saw lol I see no spark so I’m gonna tackle the spark plug and ignition coil. I replaced the coil for my 025 and it fixed everything. Btw, just cleaned one 009L and now it runs fine, cuts like a champ. I love these little suckers. The thing is you must diagnose the WHOLE saw.
