My new stihl 066

I got this saw in the post today ,i think this wil be my next big bore saw, it dosen`t run ,no spark any idea`s .It does not run with new coil i tried , can the flywheel be broken in som way .The saw is 98 modell and has polymer flywheel and lida coil.

Wow nice saw. Looks low hours for sure. Have you tried a new plug? If a new coil wont fire, check your kill switch. Disconnect it from the coil and give it a try. If that doesnt do it, it has to be the flywheel. Its the only other piece.

This saw has been used on logosol sawmill since new ,the saw has almost no wear on the outside and the cylinder look like new. I have put in new sparkplugg and disconnected the kill switch but still no spark.This is the flywheel from the saw.

Did you removed the ground wire at the coil or the switch? You need to remove it at the coil.

I removed both the wires at the coil.

Also, don't forget to check the sparkplug lead, and check the wire for continuity.

I used the complet coil with sparkplug lead but its still a no runner .Can i try to use the flywheel of my 2004 660 with heated handle. 1122-400-1218 is the partnumber of that flywheel.

To day i swap the flywheel of my 660w saw and the saw fired ,so the answer is that the flywheel can be broken. The thing is that Stihl here in Norway has newer heard of it before .

I had that same problem with an 036 Pro. Like to drove me nuts, until I swapped the flywheel off an 034, then it ran perfect!

I live in Norway but it wold be about 250 when converted to dollar ,i think it is a good price , but i have to get a new flywheel ,what do you think a fair price would be to pay for a flywheel.

Hi matt9923 .There is not a Norway ebay ,everything i by is in local newspaper or on a site called www.finn.no But often i get my saws by phone call to different chainsaw dealers in my district. There is not many big saws fore sale in Norway ,they often last wherry long where they are used.

Ya no Norway eBay but their are some Norway sellers iv seen nothing for 066 flywheel.
DO you use paypal? you can probably get one form the states just a bit more for shipping.

Yes matt9923 i use Paypal when shopping on ebay ,i purchased a 064 saw from a member here on AS last winter ,the saw ended up as ported 064 big bore with expansion chamber .
