Need help w/Stihl serial number. Fish?

Can anyone run my 026 serial and tell me when it was built?

This relates to my rebuild project here-

I asked the question in that thread but I didn't get an answer. The saw is running great now but I am still curious as to its age.

Worse case scenario, I will pay my local Stihl dude a visit and run it for you
in the a.m.

Ran the number you gave me, it says "invalid serial number"

Double check the number again.

Ok, I'll double check tonight.

This number (which I probably wrote down wrong) was stamped into the right hand crankcase beside the brake flag. Is that the correct location to find the serial?

Unless one of the 6's is supposed to be an 8, then it might be 222246835.

SO what you're saying is, if your saw cuts a tree down in the forest, does it make a sound when it falls?

How could it, it does not exist. I suppose that if it cut down a tree that did not exist either then it might make a sound, if someone who did not exist was not there to hear it, which should be possible since the sound technically would not exist.

Somehow, if any of this did or did not happen our Universe might/might not explode.
