Well, never mind the few who like em, how do you like it so far?

Nice Canadian model, orange with a chain brake.

I haven't run it enough to say. I picked it up on saturday and when I got it home I cut a couple blocks and the chain is very dull. It seemed like it run very well but could tell much because of the chain. Since then I havent had anytime to sharpen it up and try it again. I just snapped a few pics of it tonight and pulled the muffler cover, Piston looks good.

Ol' Buddy you hit a good lick right there!!!
I won't use the term RARE because it is SOOOOO overused, but that certainly is an uncommon saw!

A little "Allis Chalmers" orange paint and that one will be slick.

Holy Crap, chains brake and everything!!! You really should sell thar saw to someone who obsesses over it. A Canadian model will be mis-Labeled as a 3400.
(GLAD A FELLOW CANUCK OWNS IT.)

FATGUY, What do you mean a canadian model will be mislabeled a 3400

As far as I know this is a candian model. The guy I bought it from said he bought it brand new, couldnt remember how long he said 15 years or more.

I just rebuilt a saw my dad had. It was badged as a Poulan Prooo 3400 XP (built in ON) I had a mess of a time getting new piston rings for it. I had a 3400 IPL and orderd the rings accordingly, always ended up with rings that were too small diameter wise and way to fat. Turned out, they're not really a 3400 but a 4000!!! Pull your muffler off and look at the rings, If they're thin, odds are you have a 3.9 Cubic Inch (64 cc)THUMPER ( I hate to say it, but it out cuts my 026 in BIGGER wood). Either way, if you want to sell or trade, let me know.

Here's a link to my rebuild. I painted it blue, 'cause my pops used to paint everything he made blue

Has that had some port work done? None of my Poulans have that type of surface to the exaust port.

I dont know but I doubt it. The guy I got it from said he bought it new and he just dont seem the type for modding. Heck he replaced the old girl with a new MS290:jawdrop:

I asked him if he had anything extra lying around that goes with her and he give me a brand new Stihl green chain LOL

gonecountry, Thanks for posting the pics of your 4000! there was a post on the 4000 saw while back, and someone mentioned that the Canadian version was orange and had a chain brake! and I said that I had not ever seen one...LOL, Well that has changed now. Hope it seves you well. The 4000 has become my favorite saw:)

Was lookin through my pics and thought this was a good one.

Plus it keeps up with the theme of us blunosers displaying saws on the wifes appliances. LOL :givebeer:

That is a nice looking saw, I know those inside and out and they are a really decent machine.

I rebuilt a US 3400 and painted it a similar color scheme to yours but I didn't know at the time that they were orange in Canada, thought I was being original.....

Moparman has it now and I trust is still running it from time to time.
