I removed my air filter to soak and clean but when putting it back, seems like the contact spring for the Master Control Lever is in the way or in the wrong shape. The control lever does not want to pop up when i press the throttle after starting. Not sure if the spring goes under the filter or in front of filter. the other end goes under or over the cotrol lever assembly? Thanks

Mine looked like this:

Thanks for the reply and the photo. I am still unsure about how the air filter placement. I went earlier and bought a new spring. I messed up the old one trying to install air filter. Will the filter press down on the spring or fit behind it.I used my compressor on my filter before I read not to do it and they didnt have one in stock. Hope it will be ok. Thanks

That is the correct filter for an 026, notice that there is a corner or notch where the filter housing fits over the top of the spring you have posted about, the filter does not touch the spring either front or back.
