Has any one ever made a velocity stack for a saw? I am thinking about making one for my saw. Does any one have pictures of theirs to give me an idea to start with? or is there any things i should consider before i start. I am going to make one for my 056 super

Velcro:) They don't intend for you to use the rear cover. I just thought it was too ugly without it. No comments from the peanut gallery about how ugly you think it still is:greenchainsaw:

I think is looks better than the new Dolmar HD filter or the Shinny's IMO

Did you say on a 64??

The only question I have for yall. Is it possible to buy the velocity stack get up from the web? I've played hell trying to find them around there. Seems less and less velocity stack get ups are making it to the local saw shops I go to.

WOW nice setup, where did you get the filter, I am using a little foam filter on my 64 but that looks KILLER.

Here's a couple of questions.

Are you referring to a bell mouth or a 'velocity stack' as in a long air horn ?

What do you want to achieve with it ? increased power/RPM or is it just for the looks ?

Bear in mind that lengthening or just changing the length of the inlet tract changes the harmonics of the pressure wave there in the same way as changing the length of an exhaust. Lengthening it will probably move the power band down the rev range and will definitely change the tune.

There's some good reading on bell mouths here http://www.profblairandassociates.com/pdfs/RET_Bellmouth_Sept.pdf (Prof Blair is considered one of the the current guru's of two strokes, and his books sell for several hundred dollars)
