I have this one. It works fine. Digital Tachs are pretty simple devices. The actual electronics are not complicated. Just pick one you like.
Terrific, and it looks good. I'm going to ask LOML to order one for me. This one just "looks" at the spark plug and works. It also has a battery that lasts and lasts. What could be simpler and more efficient than that?

Bailey's usually sells good stuff. :)

.... My tach has a non-replaceable battery....
Or so they want you to think. I go one of those Briggs hour meters (no tach, just the meter) like this one: Amazon.com: Briggs & Stratton Maintenance Minder Hour Meter 5081K: Patio, Lawn & Garden , for a DR string mower. Sealed, "one use" battery. Yeah sure. When the battery went dead, I just sliced it open along the seam, and inside was a Lithium watch battery. I'm fixin' on just duct-taping it back together (okay, maybe a line of RTV around the seam) when I get a fresh battery for it. Bet a nickel you could do something similar.

Edge and Engine was good to deal with also on tech/Fast Tach, The first one they sent was scratched on the inside glass, I called them up and they sent a brand new unit, no questions asked. The unit had to be scratched from the factory since it would have had to been taken apart to scratch it. I tried them both and they both read same RPM, One of them seemed to boune around a touch more then the other.

Quality...

Quality does make a difference. At a GTG I attended last year two guys brought engine tachs. They were nearly 500 RPM apart above 10,000 and 200 RPM apart at idle. One was consistently higher than the other. We never knew which one was right. :bang:

Both were supposedly spark counters.
