Hey guys wondering what brand and type of tach to get for use in tuning my saws and where do you guys buy them from?

Thanks,

Jake

there's a tiny tach in the classifieds right now for $75... might be able to negotiate a little cheaper...

Depends on how many saws you have. If less than three saws, I would buy Works Connection tachs for each one. For the money, I was not impressed with the Fast Tach quality.

I have work connection on all my saw's plus I have this one also

I have a Fast Tach and 1 Works Connection mounted.

I trust the Fast Tach and use that for the tuning. The Works Connection reads low compared to the Fast Tach.

The hour meter is nice though.

That's how I see it for the Fast Tach too.
I wouldn't buy another one for $15.00

Is there any high quality NON-CHINESE made wireless tach?

Where can you buy the work connection tachs? Is there a arboristsite sponser that carries them ?

I just ordered 5 of them off freebay

The company isn't a sponsor here so I would get in trouble posting a link - it's a cycle shop

Here one of the MS 250 with one

Thanks H2H . I will try calling my cycle dealer that i deal with to see if he has this tach. I like the idea of a tach mounted on the saw so i know what its rpm is and the hours that it has on it. I do have the tech tach for tunning but it is way to big to mount to a saw.

Where is this tach made? I'm trying my best to not support Chinese.
I like how you put that together. Let both of your hands do more important things rather than holding a tach.

I have a Tech Tach from Edge and Engine and I have 4 works Tach, Have only used the Tech Tach so far and I do like it.

I saw this unit on saw's that the downunder boy's were using I like what I saw so I bought 1 to start with and like it on my 261 so then I bought 5 more for the rest of my saw's just wish I had them on my saw's when they were brand new

I don't see anything about were it's made on the package or the unit

The company is from Cali that is marketing them but they don't sell them (I've ask) they directed me to a cycle shop that is selling them on ebay

But think about it for a second your computer; radio; tv; chainsaw; car; truck etc. you use all have things made in Asia (Chinese; Japan; Mexico etc.) in it

I gave up on that one many many years ago it's a great thought tho
