How are you splitting and reassembling the muffler? Isn't is brazed shut?

It has a crimped seam......just heat it up and work it open.

A lot of mufflers we do are welded shut. The 3120XP, and 394XP come to mind first here. On those we saw them in half, remove the baffles, and braze them back together.
Good to hear the numbers are the same, ditch the muffler and you have a 7900.

The exhaust port has a different shape as well Andre, but that ain't a big deal either. Great saws......
I saw that in some pics when they first came out, it sure don't look like a big deal.
As you know I'm a big fan of this series of saw!! Thanks for the first hand information.
