New to me poulan 5020 questions

Hello all i got a used poulan 5020 cheap from a guy at work he bought it as a reman a while ago and could never get it running. I clean it up and checked it out. There are a couple or little score lines in the cylinder. How much scoring is to much? Also it will fire and idle but as soon as you give it gas it dies. If you baby it you can get it up to about mid rpm but it just wants to die. Where do i start?

I would start by adjusting the L screw. If you don't know how to tune a carb, there are some good videos on YouTube.

Check your fuel lines also, they used cheap fuel line in those.

In my experience every other time I used my 5020 I'd have to adjust H and L, but other than that worked good.
