Looking to buy a used 038 fuel tank/rear handle assembly. Must be in good functioning condition. Doesn't need to look the best.

I think I mentioned the 038S tank is the same thing. The 038 will work but it's magnesium.

China doesn't do quality control. Tried one from farmertec. It was 3/8 0f an in too big and the air filter wouldn't fit.

Stihl has them brand new OEM if you want to spend the coin. The used market is getting kind of scarce but they're out there. I just bought an mostly complete used 038 Mag parts saw on eBay for like $150. Just have to be quick on the click.

I’ll take a look tomorrow at work. Last one I bought was 18 months ago or so. Stihl Northwest had them in stock last summer so things could have certainly changed between then and now.

Tank housing 1119 350 0822 shows as discontinued or obsolete. Looks like they’ve dried up in North America.

We’ve never done it a my shop. I suppose if you knew someone high up on the food chain with Stihl you probably could. They do pop up on eBay from time to time.
