You can't use the later two forms of vents on the older 026. What you can do though is install the flapper valve (trickier than it looks..) part number 1110 353 1600.. About $4.00.

Does this part # look like a little orange umbrella? My receipt doesn't show any part numbers and they didn't even look at the number I gave them-the guy just went over to a parts bin and grabbed this little orange thing and said "this will fix it".

This part looks REALLY familiar but I can't remember where I've used it. I know I've put one of these in something before but I can't figure out where. I'm gonna be pi$$ed when I get home and find one in my spare parts drawer since I paid almost $5 for the darn thing.

Finnbear, Is this what you have? .........it's a old one I replaced.

The saw drooling gas/oil mix all over itself from the vent everytime I turn it on its side is the problem I'm hoping it fixes. Starting easier would be a plus too.

Should fix drooling........and help cold starts

Before cold starts, I shake the saw for a few sec. 2 or 3
to build pressure in tank and to make sure the oil & gas are mixed good.

026 tank vent?

Got an 026 with this exact setup. The tit piece is there but nothing on top of it. From what I've seen, there is what looks to be a felt filter on top of it and a plastic cap that fits over it. What's to stop me from rigging some kind of filter and something like a water bottle cap on top of this thing? dealers seem to be as confused as some of the rest of us on these things. I'd put a hose and different filter on, but i dont think it'll work. Any ideas?

thanks

hey, that orange flapper tit hickey...where's it going? putting that in the hole and reinstalling black "tower"? (mid-80's 024 super)

no real problem in the field, but tired of the leaking in the shop.

edit: nebbermind...looked at parts manual, will get the little hickie and seef it works under the tower.

I've got an 026 and I don't think my tank vent is right either. I have the black tower vent and the tank has a small slot with a hole in it. Looking at the IPLs http://www.arboristsite.com/attachments/chainsaw/147922d1282271374-scan0001-pdf, I have 25, 19, and 20, but I'm missing 23 & 24. Part 19 looks like a set screw. When I remove both screws I can blow through the vent, but I can't with the screws in. Seems like I should be able to blow through some with both screws in or how will it vent? So if I get the tit, 1110 353 1600 do I need part 23 and 24?
