Had my first major problem with one of my saws this week. For those that don't know, I have had two 365's since 2000. I bought them from the place I used to work when they were one year old. Since that time, I have cut lots of firewood and felled a ton of trees. Within the last year or so, I have played around with modding them. One is still a 365 that runs pretty good, the other I turned into a 372.
While doing some cutting this past week, I noticed the 372 quit oiling. After tearing it apart when I got home from the woods, I found the oil pump locked up and the oil pump drive (plastic thingy that is crank driven by a worm gear) was all chewed up. I don't know what caused the oil pump failure, but I do know that the plastic gear got chewed up from the seized oil pump.
It is back up and running with a "new" used pump and worm gear. I am really surprised that these saws have ran as good as they have without any major problems. I think one replacement part is 6 years isn't too bad.
