Got a McCulloch 10-10 Automatic and from the previous owner, the muffler is both rusted and exposed top of it cut out.

Is removing the muffler as easy as unbolting it from the bottom and sliding it out or is more disassembly required?

Getting the muffler off is as easy as removing the two screws and sliding the muffler out.

Getting a new one back in can be tricky as they have a gasket in there, and in the process of sliding the muffler in place the gasket is easily dislodged.

I normally remove or replace the mufflers once the saw is fully disassembled and the shroud is removed. To make it easier without completely removing the shroud remove that strap and allow the shroud to open up a bit as you take the muffler out and slide it back in again.
