Can someone please explain some of the different types of chains for me, along with the best uses for each. I know what a skip chain is, but what is the purpose other than ease of sharpening???
Thanks for the help folks. What exaxtly is a hardwood chain?? Which chain most likely came on my new Husk 357XP???
and it's most likely full chiesel...
I'd think probably semi chisel safety chain. First upgrade is a loop or two of Stihl RSC.
Other chains that you probably don't need to worry about are milling (has less of an angle for smoother cut) .
So, then, if I gradually lessen the angle on my regular chains as I repeatedly sharpen them, I will end up with a milling chain? Or are there other subtle differences? Hows about raker height?
