ok just a quick general question on double ended bars - using a roller/handle not a 2nd powerhead..

how do they fare/compare in use to a reg. long bar/spocket tip bar....

ps: just asking as I may "grab" one from soneone before it's gone.. a GB 44" stihl mount bar.. new..

bump and note

guess the real question is the "something" that u don't find out until u got it and tried to use it! hmmm - if only someone would have told me??

no it's just a stihl mount double ender for sale.. no handle.. would have to get a handle/roller.. To refine the question even more was wondering about the roller/etc setup on the handle and any issues diff from just using a reg. bar..

insert: guess there must not be any real issues are someone would have said by now... i think

The use of double ender bars with helper handles seems to depend on personal preference. For now, while I can still do it, I prefer to mill on my own. Some helper handles have chain tension adjustment built in. From my point of view this would be the main reason to use a double ender.

I have a 44" Granberg double ender bar with the helper handle. As Bob said the biggest advantage to this set up is that you can tension the chain from the handle. So far I havent found any disadvantages to using this bar.
