The rain has started here on the west coast and tonight I got out the lazer from Sherrills and shot it out over the vineyard through the rain into the trees. Man it makes a great light show!
This tool has been very usefull for bidding I dont know what I'd do without it. I can spot the exact areas I am talking about and the client can follow along

lazer loggin? lets see that baby....

I can just picture it...
homeowner " I dont want that tree over there anymore"
Frans " okee dokee.... ZAP!" groan (the tree that is).... keerash.

Does the lazer section it to draggable lengths?

do you just flail it around to get rid of the brushy stuff? kinda like a light saber in crystal meth...

I've been carrying the red lazers in my truck for several years, but the red is only visible in the evening. I agree, it's impressive to be able to point to exactly where you'll be cutting, and trace the (future) new canopy in the instance of suggesting a crown reduction.

It's very professional, but like I say, the red lazer has a tight, evening time window. I get them from the dollar store, but they cost two dollars. They last quite a long time.

Does the green show up in daylight?

I have also been using the green laser to point out various spots on the tree to the customer. Yes, the green laser shows very well in daylight when you are standing under the canopy of the tree. It will show up fairly well in bright sunlight, but with just a little bit of shade it will show very well. I bought mine on Ebay (brand new) for $59 about a year ago.

Here is the same one that Sherrills sells for half the price:

My little cat, Scourge, chases the laser in circles for as long as my arm will last. When I stop, she keeps tipping in circles. I have to unwind her or she staggers too much.

The green laser works great during the day. I've been using it with our trim crews.

I really like the green laser too. It avoids the "wrong branch" or "I thought you meant that one too" issue.

I had a foreman who used one to point out things in the piping we were doing. Being red colourblind (nearly) I couldnt see the red dot past about 3 feet. He couldnt believe it; thought I was pulling his leg and being uncooperative. We got into a few rough words before he put it in his pocket and went to plan B. I haven't tried the green ones to see what they will do for me.

Just my luck. Just bought the laser and now I am seeing a lower price. Oh well.

What kind of laser did you buy - red or green? Does it work well for you? Where did you find a cheaper one?

Is your question another case of 'clueless' ????
Is reading prior posts not an option?
Is this mearly an easily forgiven oversight, or another case of modern day skimming of all input but processing very little? (multi-tasking)
Read the prior posts. Especially the one that gives a web site for buying less expensive lazers :)

Xander, then you could just put your ported laser dot between the two red ones, press turbo and zap; saves having to climb the tree with the messy chainsaw!
