WOOD WAGON!!! (and pics of my 365BB)

Bought this 88 Dodge with a fuel injected 360, headers, almost new dual exhaust, new alternator for 175 bucks today. Put some 31x10.50 scrub tires on it to get her home, then my cousin and I hit the snow packed timber to cut firewood. 4 wheel drive works and everything. Just wait until I slap the air bags and knobby tires.

I put my BB 365 in the picture so we would be on topic!

Hows the frame?

You paid 175 for the entire truck or just the alternator?

Frame appears to be in good shape from a visual inspection. I Baja'ed for a couple hours then drove 65 miles home with it with a load of firewood. 175 was for the whole truck, I just had to put tires on it at my cousins shop, plus a battery.

Good deal for the price. Older Dodges get just about zero attention and I don't know why. They are so ugly (well, still way better looking than a tundra) they're pretty in a way.

LOl, it DEFINETLY needs real tires. These were just to get me by for the time being. It made it through 18" of snow up in Northern Kansas on those crappy tires though, I did get stuck once. That wont happen once I get done with it.

i have a set of 33x12.50's located that are basically the same tread as BF Goodrich Mud Terrain tires and are about 80% tread for 200 bucks.

Im tired of not being able to get into the spots I want to cut wood, and this I hope is the solution to that!

I like the wood wagon. looks like you need to go do some off roading in that thing and maybe when you are out are can find some good trees to cut!! :clap:

Wow 175 bucks for that truck is a steal. So what about the other things, such as radio, heater, AC, how does it drive on the highway? Even if none of those things work, or rides like a lumber wagon it's still a great bargain.

PS my 75 crew cab dodge is for sale.

He took the radio (I'll put an am radio thats all I listen to), heater works too well, lol, AC I dont know yet if it works, but it has it. I drove it 65 miles home on the interstate at 75 mph, and it drives and rides pretty well. Steered well, no obvious play in the steering, rode well, no vibrations, and we didnt balance the tires when we put them on.

Yeah, Blue star dx 185 with a Kohler engine. Thats the company service truck I drive to fix rental equipment.

Nice little machine. Do you use if mostly for welding or the auxiliary power? I work for Miller.

I probably should give a little history so someone may actually believe this. The kid my cousin got the truck from for me has a history of buying a truck and driving it for a while, getting sick of it, and selling it. Apparently he has more money than brains, because he paid 1250 for it as shown on the title. That shafted me, and I had to pay sales tax on that amount because he wrote it on the title. (Im still not complaining)

I am gonna do a few different things to this truck to make it an official wood wagon dedicated for firewood and that type of work.

Honestly, probably 50-50. I use them both. The welder works great for a small unit. I had a 225 on my old service truck. I loved that 225...

Here's my wood wagon/snow pusher

Here's my wood wagon/snow pusher. It just happens to be a Dodge too. This one is a 85 1 Ton with a 360 4 speed. I had to replace the clutch, timing chain, and fix the plow pump. I have less than $1500.00 in it.

FYI..... The timing chains on the 360s are good for around 60,000 miles or so. How many miles do you have on that truck?
