Guys,

Looking for an axe handle for this unusual head. Looked around on the net, found nothing, any suggestions?

thanks,

There is a House or Howse handle company in either the Exeter or Cassville Missouri phone directory, they have been in business for over 50 years, making handles and sell all over the country. The owners name is Chris.
If they don't have one laying on the shelves somewhere they can custom make a handle if you provide the measurements. They are super reasonable as well.

Thanks a bunch, sent them an email with all the particulars. I will post the reply.

Assuming that the axe head has been photographed upsides down ( the wider part of the centre wedge would need to be at the top), I can see how a fibreglass/resin handle could be molded in situ but can't see how a wooden handle could be made to fit.

Well the goods folks at Handle House were stumped on a handle for this head. I have have never done fiber glass before. Still need some ideas?

thanks,

if both of those are yes, perhaps this will work....

You could make a tree piece assembly like this and put two wedges in the end to open it up so it won't split . Just cut your pieces to you have to tap the third one in with a hammer and then drive your wedges home. You could use epoxy or glue when assembling too to help hold it. Good luck. I reckon this'll work fer ya!!!! one thing you could do is make the handle in one piece and then cut out the two pieces with a narrow kerf saw blade. that way they are a perfect fit.

I see it says Made In the USA, is there a manufacture name on the other side? I know that would be too easy. Try posting the same question in the Firewood Forum. Some of those guys might recongnize the ax and know where to get a new handle, Joe.

I looked through ebay there are 365 postings for axe handle! Perhaps I missed it, could you post a link or auction number? The head name is Magnus Tool. Could not find any links by searching for Magnus tool.
