Hi guys , how is the the 365 special for a all round firewood saw? Any issues with this model or to lookout for? Is it worth doing the muffler mod too?
Thx

.... I believe the 365 has an inboard clutch also.
Rufflehouse, I'm glad you asked about the 365. Last week I went to a few dealers to compare the 357XP and MS361. No one had any 357XP's. One dealer did have a 365. It's brand new but looks it's been sitting there for quite a while, a lot of dust on it. I didn't know anything about the 365 so I didn't ask about it or pick it up. The on/off switch and choke control is different from the rest of the Husky's I've seen. I got home and looked it up on-line and did a search here on it. I'm about 90% sure that I'm going to get the MS361. I have however thought of calling the dealer back that had the 365 to see if I could get a REALLY GOOD deal on it. I believe the 365 has an inboard clutch also.
I looked at the 357xp also but I was wondering if it would lack that torque when you buried the bar compared to the 365? At the dealer the 357xp and the 365 were the same price.Which is better for firewood?

SawTroll, from what I found the 365 weighs 13.2 lbs and makes 4.6 hp. The MS361 weighs 12.3 lbs and makes 4.4 hp. Unless I can great a super good deal on the 365 I'll get a MS361. I'll take a pound less weight over an extra .2 hp. I still want to check out the 357XP but I really like the MS361.

As an all around firewood saw?? It's a very good choice!
Does the 361 have any vib damping on it?
I started out thinking that the 65cc would have been superior, but decided that I should just go by HP. Might depend on what size bars you are needing to run, seems Freak used a 28" on the 365 with satisfactory results, can't do that with a 357. With an 18" or 20" you can just lay the saw to the wood and it will eat it all on it's own, no need to get heavy on the dogging. The 357 has plenty of torque for a 20" with 3/8 chain. Cool how Husky can get impressive power from a 56.5cc engine.
