I have a JD CS56 that runs like a dream, is strong and very reliable, despite my novice knowledge of maintenance and lack of upkeep...
Only thing ive done in the three seasons ive owned it is put a primer bulb on it and keep oil/fuel in it.
Cranks on first pull and runs like a top every time...
Everything is gone. Thanks gentlemen.
I have two brand new Oregon Power Match 24" bars. This is Oregon's BEST bar and features a replaceable tip. They have the D009 (large Husky) bar mounting holes. Fits just about every Husqvarna / Jonsered / Dolmar / Makita larger than 60cc.
They are 24"...
I've been searching for info but coming up pretty dry so far, so I figured I'd ask. I just got an Echo CS 490 off eBay on a whim. I have a 372XT for bigger stuff and wanted a saw I could tinker with and use for odds and ends stuff.
It comes with a 20" bar which is bigger than what I'm wanting...
FREE!!!! Echo CS-6700 parts saw. Things I know are wrong with it are bad piston, but cylinder is still ok. Also not getting spark. See pictures for detail, or ask questions, I'll try my best to answer. JUST pay to be shipped from 30205.
I have a 288xp I would like to use for milling. My current dilemma is rather I should just use 36" bar with it, which won't max out my 36" Alaskan. Or if the saw would be able to run a 42" bar which would allow me to use the full 36" of mill. I am worried I will be asking too much of the saw.. I...
Just opened a new 28" husqvarna bar, and noticed the split in the end of the bar. Haven't had a bar this long before, but doesn't look normal. Emailed dealer with pics, and he said he opened all his bars that size, and they all had that, and wasn't sure why, but would email husky. Legit, or a...
I'm thinking of water jetting an artistic pattern into my chainsaw bar and am wondering if it can be done. I would choose a pattern that would minimize the loss of structural integrity, but I am also wondering if the metal in the center of a bar is solid, laminated or riveted together? Anyone...

Hi everyone
Just wondering what 18" Oregon or Carlton bar in .325 pitch by .058" gauge
would fit the Echo CS-501 saw.
I can not find any refferences other than to some 3/8 or .050" bars.
Thanks, john
Half rant, half questions. Neighbor and I are cutting a wind blown oak, neighbor borrows my saw and bends my 25" Rollmatic ES. Not worth getting angry over.
I run by the Stihl dealer closest to work this morning & ask them how much to straighten the bar. They say it can't be done. I guess I...
I noticed they had rolled out some larger bars over the 14" bar and chain loop they introduced the brand with. I put 3 - 16" loops and a 16" bar in the cart and shipped they were a few cents less than $40 total.
here is a 16" loop...
Have a few 42" bars to sell as I am consolidating bar sizes.
First is a Oregon Power match 42" 3/8 pitch .063 for a large mount husky. I used it a few times on my 395xp. Comes with a chain that's in good shape. Full skip full chisel Oregon. Looking to get 100 plus shipping.
Second bar is a...
My Makita EA4300 (Dolmar 421) came with Oregon 95VPX chain on its 18" original bar (too long for this saw).
I've finally got around to buying a K041 .325 16" bar which I thought would work ok, but my dealer put Stihl 23RS chain on it o_O and the kerf is obviously too large, as it rubs slightly...
Anyone happen to know which nose sprockets fit other brand bars. For example does Windsor and other 3 rivet noses fit stihl or other brands. How about single rivet brands?
Hi Arboristsite!
I've had my Stihl MS 241 C-M for aprox. 6-8 months now.
I run with both a 14" and 18" bar.
After I had my 18" bar for a couple of months my saw started bugging out whenever I used it. The saw gets really shaky and 'lagging' and the chain almost constantly jumps off. It doesn't...
So over the weekend I filmed a video of using a battery charger and electrolyte solution to remove the rust from my old Homelite C-5 solid nosed bar. I think it done a great job, but I wanted to know what all of the more seasoned vets thought. Enjoy!
