015 carb rebuild

A couple of weeks ago i started to rebuild the carb on a friends 015. I got it 99% disassembled, lined up the new gaskets and put it away for another day.
Well I got started on it again today and I messed up up by emptying the bag of extra metering gaskets into the the carb parts that I already had laid out.
I forgot I lined up all the gakets.
The old metering gasket was tossed 2 weeks ago. I have no ipl....I have 2 choices, Both gaskets are the same except one has a hole while the other has a open run connecting the fuel feed to a orfice ????

One other Question, can't get the split ring out, can I omit this step, what is the function of this split ring?

You didn't say what carb you had, but taking a guess it might be a walbro HDC. Here is a breakdown from mike acres site.

I might be totally wrong, but i am just taking a guess in the dark here. Hopefully someone in the know will show up and help you out.
