IF you can find and buy a decent used saw, by the time you put a bar and chain on it you are usually within $50-$100 of a new saw. Why bother?
Buying a used climbing saw is usually penny wise and pound foolish, unless you get that one-in-a-million deal. Better odds playing the lottery (a tax for people bad at math).
O Man John that would mess up my system ..... and i have yet a 046 and a HT75 to replace yet When the yr was up on the 021 Brush saw i did however replace it with another 260 Love those 026/260's
I keep my saws until they are in my way.Just because... I tend to replace stuff when it gets very tired and doesn't warrant a rebuild(2nd rebuild on big saws). The ones that still run hang around in the shed in case they need to come out of retirement for a few days and spell one of the young whippersnappers that had to go to the saw hospital.
DDM, do you rotate out your ropes also? Maybe that is a question for everyone. How often do you rotate out your ropes? Do the kids want them for rope swings? Are they still fit for a swing by the time you rotate them out?
