I am in the process of building one good 026 Pro from one 026 and one 026 Pro, both with damage.

I was going to use the carb off the 026 Pro (since the standard 026 I have didn't have one) and I noticed that there is no "H" adjustment on it?!? A Pro saw with no "H" adjustment? Is this right? All it has is the "L" adjustment and the "LA" for idle control.

Im sure that the MS260 I had before this had full H & L adjustment as one would expect.

Either way, I think I should try to find a fully adjustable carb since I have already opened up the muffler and will probably need a little more top-end fuel to match the increased airflow. Which Stihl 026/026Pro had the fully adjustable carb? Was it only introduced on the MS260? Is it a Zama or Walbro thing?

Any help is appreciated.

There have been many walbro carbs on the 026/026p/ms260. The single screw versions were around 1999 - 200x. The carb you want is a WT426 or a WT194 (change the metering end to compensating).

Try your existing carb. They were rich running (12.5K) so you may fall into the sweet spot (14K) without adjusting anything.

I'm weary about trying a carb with no H adjustment around here.

I cut at +25C here in the Summer and -25C here in the Winter, so something's gotta give.

I'll look for a WT426 or WT194

Out of curiosity, I know that the WT194 has a greater range of adjustment than the WT426 (100% vs 15%), but does the WT194 make more power than the WT426, or are they the same carb, just one has a greater range?

I am curious since the WT426's seem very easy to find (with both H & L adjustment) for cheaps, while the WT194 appears to be harder to come across.

Both us the same piston, and the only diference in the cylinder is the added decomp valve.

With heavy modding it's possible to run out of adjustment on the 426, but you can fix that by changing the main jet. They are different carbs.
