here are some better pics of the dual dogs on my 032, now I need to find a 3/4 wrap handle bar for it.

I got the three kits tonight that I ordered. I put one on my 261. The inner dawg is the same size as the original, except the bottom spike is larger. That's a good thing. I drilled the holes out for the outer dawg and installed it. The supplied 5mm bolts are 12mm long, and are too short. The threads do catch, but need to be longer. This is because the 261 clutch cover is not recessed in the area where the dawg bolts on. For the same reason, the chain catcher does not go into the hole as it should. It needs to do so to provide support in the event of throwing a chain. A slight bent to the dawg and it's good to go. I'll order new 5 x 16 bolts tomorrow. I give the kit a thumbs up. It makes the saw rock steady, such that it won't roll around in the bed of your truck. I also like that they're not much larger than stock. They don't need to be on a 50cc saw.

That looks good on there. I don't know why they don't something on them stock like the dolmar 5105.

:Dlooks good ,
Brad looks like there is plenty of left over thread on the catcher ,and by fitting a washer or spacer between the inner dawg and catcher it will bring it across enough that you can straighten the outer dawg

I realize that, but way prefer it on the inner spike. Just continuing the Husky theme:)

Likewise.

I used a nylon bushing to bring the chain roller out further into the outside spike now, And the nut ends up right even with the threads. The original pics don't show this addition. I also use longer bolts on the outside cover but had to change to non-metric to get just the right length, the metrics that were available were too long. Worked out well.

Used it today for the first time with the kit on in White Oak and it sure makes a different and keeps the trash off the case of a new saw. Good addition to the saw for sure. Also it noodles much better, not that I use this saw for that. (With the original chain catcher removed but bolt re-installed)

just to be sure if i order part #1135 650 7750 it'll be the smaller dawgs shown on the 261 right?

those are same duals i run on my 026 and my 036 ,fit both saws nice

That kit is really nice on the 261 but on the 361 I almost think I need a larger set cause I still rub the muffler some times when digging the spikes in. Looks perfect on the 261 cause the muffler sits back a bit farther.

One of the things I like about the MS261 is the captivated bar nuts. Didn't think they would be a big deal, but after using the saw awhile I like them.

Checked the 361 chain roller kit/spikes and the holes line up perfectly to the 261, just need to finish drilling the holes in the cover.

The 261 bar cover will fit on the 361 just fine. Ordering a captivated bar nut cover on Monday for the 361, if they are available yet. Thanks for the thread Brad.

Hey question guys, if the 261 bar cover will work on a 361, do you think the large bar cover for the 361 with the flared out skirt would work on a 261? I've only seen those flared out bar covers on a few 361/362's, I think they were the R models with wrap handlebars maybe?

Thanks,

Erik

yes

261, 361, 362, 441 all use the same clutch cover. so if anyone wanted to they could use the captive bar nut cover from a 261 on any mentioned saws.

They will I have that exact set on a 028.

Snellerized, now it sounds fast. You painted the muffler too sweet. Them spikes was a little too large. Maybe the 361 set or ones like it. The second or third guy's right, you can drill out the clutch cove, the holes are already located.

Resurrecting an old thread here.

So I guess the 362R cover would work on a 261. That would give me the holes in the cover for the outer spike, but what about the chain catcher roller, is it longer for this saw so you would not have to bend the outer spike? What about the roller that comes on the 440/460? I have one of the 361 dual spike kit that I took off my ms260 before I sold it and I am wanting to use it on my new 261. But I am buying the saw new and am going to ask them if they can swap out the cover for me. Just trying to figure out exactly what I need.
