well why not do the impuls line also ? i dont see it worth NOT doing it at this time and have to do it anyway later ...
how the hell you get to it ???
does the saw REALLY have to come THAT far apart ??

What a woose you are Ron, gonna have to take you behind the woodshed,LOL Replacing the impluse hose on a 028 is a 10 minute job at most. Take the carb and handlebar off, get some long needle pliers, go in the crack between the gas tank and crankcase and unhook the hose from the nipple at the bottom of the cylinder and then pull the hose out through tank housing. Put the new hose in through the carb side and reattach the other end to the crankcase nipple with your needle nose pliers. Pop the hose in place on the tank housing and thats it.

Haha, messing with ya. Removing the handle bar is the key. It allows you to pry the tank housing back just enuff to get in that crack and get at that hose. Gittttttttttttttttttter done.

Yesterday and again today, my garage is at 42 deg. making fuel line very stiff. Got in the bathroom cabinet and got out the daughter's blow dryer. Used it to warm up the hose and spigots. Things went much better.

Is the hairdryer covered in premix and bar oil now?

He is the "Crackmeister"!!!!!

LOLOL. Fish ole Ron kinda surpized me with his post. He just rebuilt a 290 from top to bottom, had it completely apart yet he had no problem. The impluse hose replacement on those things can be a pita if ya don't know the secret. Tell me Fish how do you replace the impluse on a 290 in less than 10 minutes. You tell me your way, I'll tell you mine, I'm betting you know da secret, lets share it with those that don't know..

Well shoot Fish took off. The secret to replacing a impluse hose in a hurry on a 290 series is by removing the starter assembly. You can get to it from that side of the saw without having to yank the handle housing off..

I'm back!

Yes, once the starter is off, just use a thin screwdriver to lift the hose off the
nipple, then go up to the carb end and pull it out.
Reassemble just the reverse, but a nice needlenose or hemostats is needed.

Yah, if you ever make it to Va., get THall to take you to his favorite mammary
bar, and he can show you how can get a $20 bill out of a stripper's garter
without her knowing!!!

Very impressive!
