Stihl IPL says there is 3 grades of rubber used in the annular buffers in this saw. Which one is installed at the factory?

I'd assume the regular mounts. they work good for bars from 12" to 20. hard buffers are designed for longer bars, really not something to worry about with an 034.

Thanks for the advice Oldsaw. There is soft, med and hard buffers....I `spose the soft ones are the ones I need?

I'd opt for the medium ones. then you have some flexiblity in your bar length range. besides, those soft ones seem to wear out too fast for me.

Soft mounts work well in really cold weather, like in Montana in the winter...

Unless you are drivng a long bar in hot weather, I'd go with the "normal" mounts - oil will make them soft quick enough anyhow!

yes, finally got my head above water! Did you get that manual I sent you last week?

Yeah Andy, sure did. Thanks. I've been away from home for the past week and a half or so, so I didn't have a chance to download it, or even know it was there until yesterday. Much appreciated.
