Howdy fellas. now that you guys were talking about the 441 oilers I have a question about an 034 oiler. it seems the oil that is "sprayed" off the bar tip is patchy. get a glob of oil then nothing then another glob of oil. I use stihl b/c oil and have the oiler turned all the way up. shouldn't it be more steady of a spray?? also the entire area behind the clutch is soaked with oil so I replaced the tube and it's still leaking. seems like it's coming from around the nylon worm gear??? is this possible? maybe time to replace the whole pump?
thanks for any helpful info !!

When you replaced the tube did you put the spring inside the tube? If not it could be pinched. Did you seat the pump back properly, be careful with the torx screws on the pump, they strip easily. Also make sure the spring on the worm gear is not worn and is engaged on the clutch. If it does not turn ,no oil. After reassembly check the saw without the bar and chain to see if you have oil flow out of the weep hole. The clutch must be spinning. If not start working backwards toward the pump.

If you have excessive oil coming from around the worm, the pump body is worn. If it's affecting the pumping - time for a new pump.

Best way to check your pump is to take off the bar, and watch the oil comming from the outlet. It should be a continous stream (or ooze), with some small ripples in it.
