thanks to all for youre help,i found the problem, the crank seal behind the flywheel was literally missing except the metal backing and the tension ring.(thatll do it wont it) its a $12 fix. however the clutch was busted too i dobt ill get that for $12 its a #1125 i think. any oe got a used one? this saw has very low hours and is like new in every way, im amazed it has these problems. the clutch looks like it was just made except the fact its broke.
Wedge- a leaking seal will most certainly be the problem if carb adjustments aren't helping. On the clutch, you may be able to get away with just replacing the "spider", or the carrier in the center, and re-use your old shoes and springs. That's a cheap part, about 16 bucks.
the spider is exactly whats busted, i have 3 spare clutches but theyre all 1121 i think im gonna check. it was a lucky find on the leak, i just saw some oil near the bottom of the fly wheel, it was a pain getting the flywheel off i had to make am end for my slide hammer to remove it. they look a lil too fragile to pry on at all
you mean i might have ruined somthing? i thought i was being clever. i used a steel fitting that i had that threaded into the threads in the center of the wheel around the nut and i welded a nut that threaded onto my 2lb slide hammer onto it. one half power pop and it came off. i was proud as a peacock over how well it worked.
my adapter threaded in fine (same pitch) i got it off of a speedometer cable end off of a 1988 2500 series international dump truck. in case youre ever on final jeapordy and alex asks you what will thread into a 036 flywheel center. im probably lucky i didnt yank the crank out the other side/
