Hey guy's anyone out there have problems with a 039 oiler. Recently I was blocking out some cherry when my 039 started to pull really hard I never noticed any chain noise but a definent load on the saw motor. I checked the saw and no oil had been used out of the oil tank. I turned up the oiler adjustment but no change. Is it a remove and replace item or is it rebuildable?? thanks the Hoosier!!!

sharpen your chain it's almost turkey day!!!!

Couple of things to check. The pump is driven by a tang on a worm which connects to the clutch drum. Make sure the tang still engages the drum. Check the worm for wear and that the tang is still tight on the worm. While you have the worm out, check the oil pump gear, it should turn freely.
Now pull the pump. The intake side is a hose and the output is a plastic tube that slides onto a nipple on the crankcase. Look for sawdust plugging the intake. Clean the hose and the tank. If you have gotten this far and found nothing, clean everything and reassemble. Check for oil output. If it pumps, your OK. If not, you need a pump.
My bets are with the worm or sawdust in the pump intake.
