Ran great last time used, drained gas, cleaned up, put away. Tried using this spring - no fire.

Shop says he is getting no spark and thinks it is the coil but doubts that he can find one.

This saw is too good to toss, I hope that it is something else or an ignition module/coil is available. Any help??

If it has points I'd check those and replace those with an atom module.

If the carb has a new set of gaskets in it, and its getting fuel to the cylinder, my money is on the no spark issue.

OSA, Did you miss the word "ELECTRONIC" in big bold type in both posts? Do you think he meant it had electronic fuel injection?

Sucks you can't do much with the old electronic stuff. If you're lucky sometimes it's dirt or a bad connection or bad coil lead or corrosion where the module mounts to the saw. I'm never that lucky. Got an old 045 that I had to part out because because it had crappy spark. Did everything I could think of but still no go. At least I could use it to fix up another one better.

If you can find a coil designed for points along with the matching flywheel you can slap an Atom module in there and be off and running. This is assuming the flywheel bolts up to the crank.

Well, it looks like I was last second overbid, My top was $25, winning was $26.

Just got a call from the shop. It is up and running ready for pickup, was a shorted wire (so he said). I am beginning to have doubts about this guy. New owner of the shop as of last spring and a fairly young kid. One tip off was when I asked for the Serial # and he replied that he didn't think it had one! Yikes!
Sort of stuck with him tho as he is the only one within 30 miles.
