Bailey's sells a deal to mount a stihl bar on a husky but you can't do it the other way around. You could try swapping bar studs but I doubt your going to get that lucky. The stihl studs are thicker so you would have to widen out the channel in the bar to fit the studs. Then it would only fit on stihls. More hassle than it's worth so i'd just leave it on the husky. Or you could sell the husky and maybe get enough out of it to buy a new bar and chain for the 046:laugh: .

Killer,

The Drunk is right. To use the Husky bar on the Stihl, you need to mill the slot to fit the Stihl lugs. My recollection is that the Stihl slot is 12 mm. After the milling you then need an adapter to run it on your Husky. Unless you can do the milling yourself of have a friend that can do it, it's not cost-effective to mod it.

An angle grinder and a file can do the job to extend the bar slot, not realy something that needs milling precision.

The drunk is always right. Once again the info hare at "AS" is priceless. I have a Bridgeport milling machine so the possibilities are endless. If I can't build it or modify it I'LL figure something out. They can always go faster and remain safe. thank-you.....bob

Good post. I went the other way (stihl bar on the husky). One thing to keep in mind is that the bar adjuster hole may need to be enlarged depending on which husky you are putting it on.

The oil hole lines up, at least the ones I have done to make fit on my 372's. The chain adjustment hole needed drilled out bigger. It is easy with a soft bar, but quite the task with a good stihl ES bar....
