56MagII

I got my 56MagII from a dude on here, been using it for about 3 months now, great saw. Had always used the 056AV's. I can't see a huge difference in them, far as power goes. Has anyone noticed how heavy the friggin' mufflers are??? Holy shi7!!! Seems like a man could take some of that crap out of the muffler and lose a pound??? Any ideas??? Did all the MagII's not have brakes???:help:

BTW how many ignition changes were there? 3 or 4?

Proof positive of at least four 045 056 ignition varieties. If CB is right about the early Bosch, that makes five.

Points ignition, although this one modified with Nova module.

Bosch electronic ignition.

Early SEM ignition. This was on 045AV electronic. I know the history of this saw and believe lobed crank fitted is original.

Later SEM module. For a while these were produced specifically. Later only version for TS350 saw available. Wires cut to length to suit 056.

Each one of these ignitions has its own individual type of flywheel.

I have a fairly early 045 056 manual that shows points ignition and Bosch ignition pictured. This leads me to guess there was only one type of Bosch ignition and that CB has early Bosch and early SEM mixed up. Count the minutes till I'm proved wrong:biggrinbounce2:

Yip

Then there's something wrong with your MagII. The Mag II should eat a standard model.

And my current MII has a brake.

Jeff

I ran'em side by side in nice frozen Oak, now I can tell the difference for sure. Which were older fish? The 056AV Super is what I was running besides my Mag II... They have that really nice one for sale on the tradin' post. Been thinkin about pickin that baby up...
