Hi-
Can I beg some expert assistance.
I just came across a new 16" b&c combo, 3/8" .063, Bar number is 3003-000-9413 that I would like to use on my 361. I've been using a 25" 3/8" .050. and I wanted the option of something shorter.
I set the saw up with the new combo and the chain is SUPER stiff to turn, when adjusted properly. I haven''t run it yet and just wanted to see if I'm matching something incorrectly. My Stihl b&c chart doesn't show this bar #??

thanks,
John

If the bar and chain are both 0.063, it should work fine... If the bar is new you might just have paint in the groove or lack of lube. Adjust it slightly on the loose side and run it until lubed, then re-adjust. Any reason why you changed to 063 instead of staying with 050?

Thanks for the note Lakeside.
Just gave it a run and I think it was mostly the temps. It's been 6 - 18 degrees here for a few days and I went and slobbered the bar groove and chain with bar & chain oil a few days back ( when it was in the 40's). and yes, there was some paint overspray. I was just a bit skiddish at musceling it initially.
I jsut came across this 16 ES bar and new chain combo basically for free so I thought I'd give it a whirl. It's nice having the balls of the 361 on a short bar, a 16 that is. I can see this being a handy setup for small stuff.
Thanks again
John

That sure is nice - I more often than not run a 15"/36RSC (.063) setup on mine......:biggrinbounce2:

I use it for limbing and most bucking - "overbucking" when needed.

The 18" setup is mostly used for felling.

I think i have 2 allmost new 18" stihl bars off 361's and 2 to 4 new stihl chains if you are interested let me know. I was gona put them on ebay in the next few weeks. They are .050 and .375
