066 parts on an 064??

Found a fuel tank/carb mount/heavy duty air filter etc. for sale. Will it fit my 064? Back side of my air filter is getting "religious"...... would like to update if this will work.

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr doesn't look like it will fit my friend. The part numbers are different. 064 tank housing is 1122-350-0854. The 066 tank housing is 1122-350-0817. Close but not a match.............

Thanks Thall, it's on ebay. Don't need a tank, but could use the rest if it would fit. Guess I'll keep watching for a set off an 064.

I think that would fit your 064. The tanks should work, the changes in the tanks has mainly been in the tank vent system. The 066 has had lots of changes in the carb base and carb cover. Since this has both pieces the carb base (orange part that is connected to the tank) and the carb/air filter cover it should work fine. The tank should just screw onto the tank and then put the carb in and you have basically changed out the back end.

Most problems arise if you just try to change out the outer cover or carb base and they don't match.

May be wrong, but I think it would work.

I came to the same conclusion, was going to bid if it didn't get any higher. Didn't need the tank, and that was part of the auction. price went up and I wasn't around to bid anyway. Oh well.........

I'll find another one. If/when I get serious about this I'll check with some people on the board to find the parts I want if I can't find them local.
