Dave,

What are you saying, that both auctions have the same picture? Two members of this site were running the same pictures for their eBay chainsaw auctions apparently by design because of their affiliation, so everything was legit. On a more humorous note however, one of those same individuals "borrowed" an auction picture from another eBay seller and when the originator of the ad realized this, he embedded a few soft(p)orn images in the graphic which were then viewable as the new ad was being read. That was hysterical! I don`t think that it quite portrayed the image that the graphic pirate was going for. :D

It's kinda funny, but the last two 088's I sold on Ebay, the buyer never came thru with the money nor responded back to my emails, but funnily enough, just after that I listed a nice 026 and the buyer pay paled me after the sale, but has never returned my emails requesting his address. So anyway, I have his saw and his money, so what should I do now?

Both auctions had the same picture. In fact the timdouglas711 seller had "signed" the description "HUSKY395". It looks like either the timdouglas character copied the auction, or husky395 is trying to dupe buyers. Actually it looked like a joke, with the "Paypal terrified" logo he had on the auction. Interesting though, that the auction dissappeared shortly after it was mentioned here on AS...

I figured out the price its not too bad I can go to the local saw shop and get a 088 for the same price.

You rarely use 088s unless your bucking big wood that saw. It has a wrap on it which is B.C. standard for big saws you rarely see anything smaller than a 046 without a wrap handle.

My biggest fear buying anything like a brandnew chainsaw off of any auction site is it a five finger discount and somebody is trying to sell it

Gypo is sunlovr3 or something to that effect. His saws are legal and his satisfaction rating(according to Susie) is A-1.

Stihls must sell for substantially less on the West coast if you can match that price at your local dealer Pacific. John`s price is about dealer cost here.

I believe the price is actually well under dealer cost here in the US
I remember the good ole days when John was selling the 088 for $999 and still had new 090's.

not sure why but up here in the great white north we can buy the big saws cheap, 088's.3120's but we cannot buy small saws for what you guys can in the states like the 346 but with our dollar going down again that will help us up here

The reason why big saws here sell cheap is big saws get used here alot every faller buys 066 Magnums the 88s are used for heavier falling and bucking.

You do have to consider B.C. alone harvests millions of cubic meters of wood each year out here on the West Coast the wood is still big so you need a saw with 32" bar on it.

Out here on the West Coast 80% of the wood is still hand fell the terrain is too steep for a buncher to work on. The logging contractors do have dangle heads for excavators if the terrian isn't so steep and the wood is small.

I thought it was because of the "northern living allowance" that John mentioned. What about the "guns for saws exchange" that he mentioned ? I could be convinced to part with a few guns.

I'm thinking with one good pistol a guy could get as many chainsaws as he wanted...
