Well, today is one week. It's weird, they say your sense of taste gets better, but I've only noticed it with coffee. Freaking coffee tastes awesome, now!

I used to do the same thing, and quit as well. its just not worth the health risks.

So you quit in like, the 6th grade, or what?

Hang in there, Butch.

You can do it. My father quit smoking cold turkey after over 35 years, about 2 packs a day (Pall Mall reds!!). When he took a drag he sucked in about 1/4 inch, & held it so long you would've thought that he smoking something else.

I've been off the sauce for nearly 3 months. I never was a serious nicotine addict; my lungs would get heavy & hurt when I got up to over 1/2 pack a day.

Oh yes--chainsaw! Good luck with the 090.

Butch, you're about 1/8 of the way to the top of the ridge.  Keep on keepin' on.

1/8? What does that mean, eight weeks and yur safe? I don't believe you're ever safe... it's just like being a recovering alcoholic. I was quit for three years and started again. I think a decade is more in order, but everyone's different. Being the last one alive in my family has helped me to realize my own mortality, no need to be rushing into that dirt nap.

My experience every time I quit was that 6 to 8 weeks had to pass before it wasn't something I thought about all the time.  I think I've had most of 2 or 3 cigarettes in about 15 years now.  I also think every one of them was while sitting at a bar...

Good luck kicking the cancer sticks MB, never was a smoker and am glad for it. Here is a picture of my 090G Mange, has the 1/2 sprocket and I will get a bar for it eventually. Found this in a box at my job, been sitting for years, cleaned it up, added a new recoil and it started up with about 4 pulls. When you pull one of these things they like to pull back.:)

Really do not why I have even kept it, I will probably never use it, the thing is so bleeping big and heavy. Now it just sits on a shelf under the poster with Gerry B on the 165' giant redwood with his 090 and that 10' ? bar. ;)
