Guys, is this chain being made any more? I have a Wiz and am looking for replacement chain.
Alternatively, I was considering making a new sprocket for the .404 chain in the Stihl catalogue.
Or, perhaps, being merciful and cleaning up the saw for retirement. 18" and 36" bar, an 85% skip tooth chain for the 36"
What to do?

Thanks, for the info. I've been looking on e-bay, but no luck. I remember the nice sound of the Wiz chewing away and the chips pouring out of the cut. I'll have to figure a sprocket to convert to the .404 pitch.
Thanks again.

Randy's engine repair an ebay seller sells conversion sprockets for the gear drive homelites. I bought 2 of them, 1 for my 990g(single keyway) and one for my 775g (double keyway). The one that fits my 775 should fit your wiz and if he doesn't have one in stock then just send your 1/2 sprocket in and he will have one made to match in .404. I have been very pleased with mine and it has held up well even on my 990 wich is a beast. I think he charges about $50.00 per sprocket, but you save that in chain easy.:)

1/2" chain

Thanks to all respondants. I've been the last two days on the road in Oregon. Mucho plenty log trucks on I-5 going both ways. I laughed my AXE off when one of the trucks had the "Earth first - I'll log the other planets later" tail sticker. Funny.
Lotta trees in Oregon. I'll git in touch with the guy making sprockets so I can use the .404 chain. Just makes sense to go with the flow.
Can't 'member who asked how many links I needed of the 1/2", but thanks much anyway. I need to go .404 and git on with life.
Making a sprocket isn't black magic, but one of those things that costs $500 worth of time figuring, setup, beer, scrapped first items, and so on...
Anyway, I have been making do with the Super XL-20", a couple 14" Homies that Northern Hydraulics was moving a few years ago and new Stihl 192t and Farm Boss bought this year. I got the 192T to replace three XL saws that had "issues". I like the 192T ( couldn't bring myself to afford the 200T).
I've done three cuts with the Farm Boss and it did good. The wife makes me keep the Stihls inside, next to the fireplace so she can clean them up nice while she churns butter.
