im using a 4d with two biners and a micro pulley for a minder on this setup. its not the only one i climb with, but im trying to make it so, if i can find the right mixture. as far as i know i shouldnt need anything other than that for a 4d should i?

it should work just fine with your saddle

sherrill has "hbc" prusik cord. nice numbers. 7k tensile and 900 degrees if i remember right. might give a cord of that a try. i think im just gonna have to keep trying them until i find one right for me.

you find anything about the one from baileys wll?

ill look into it tomorow. if you talking about HRC it is good stuff and would be my second choice.

it may be. it is an 8mm tho. getting awfully low for my tastes. i like big limbs and big rope for my big a$$ lol
HRC8mm.
they have 5mm cord with a 5000 b/s, it will hold every pound of yer big azz + more. i like using the 5mm to back up my ascender. i used it on my lanyard fer a moth or two but it is so thin it gets sucked into my micro pulley. the stuff is so tuff scissors cant cut it:dizzy: its a good cord and the bail out cover will slide over it with ease

called sherrill today. they had a piece of bluestreak that they grizzly spliced e2e for me. guy said it should be 30-32 inches after splicing, just what i wanted. only cost me 20 bucks!! :biggrinbounce2: should get it friday and try it saturday. will let ya know how it goes.

so i looked in the big 3 cats and 08 bailys dont have **** fer prusik cords. looks like sherrill and wesspur have the most options. hrc is listed at 1000 cover melt and the bail-out is at 900. imo the bail-out is better than hrc:confused:
if i were too list best to worst i would say:
1st. bail-out 8mm-5/16
2nd. HRC 8mm-5/16
3rd. b-line 8mm-5/16
4th. ultra-tech 8mm-5/16
5th. ice 8mm
6th. samson prusik 9mm
7th. tenex 10mm-3/8

you should also try that in the 11mm stuff

i didnt even know they had an 11mm. im thinking that the 13 will be a little bulky. but will give it a try. am also gonna order the bailout from wespur(only ones who have it) and then try the hrc

11mm is like 7/16, its the next size smaller than 1/2. i think its more like 11.7mm.

okay so here is what i got so far. q

the 30'' 13mm blue streak is little more than a hip prusik. the grizzly splices are extremely stiff and hard to thread. making the 30"(29 actual) extremely short. only good for close quarters, and will be integrated as such. IE side dee removals.... the line itself works well. it had quite abit of slip when i started it out, but i could only get 4 wraps on it with the grizzly splice. after about half an hour aloft of carefull tending i finally got the line to stretch enough(break in) to give me a 3rd topwrap, 5 wraps worked good.

the add tension off the line size made for a better grip IMO. and the burnout effects are minimal. why is everyone so caught up on smaller line diameters on prusik cord?

will have a grizzly splice 36" safety blue 13mm tuesday or so. this will be used for schwabisch, distel and michoacan knots.

im really digging these grizzly splices, regardless of their stiffness.
