I bent my guide bar today when the tree caught a good breeze and went back the wrong way.

18"
3/8
64DL
1.3 / 0.050

Even if nobody has one to sell, where is the favorite place to buy Dolmar parts?

Thanks in advance!

Thanks KenJax.

You actually brought up an interesting thought... one that I sort of stumbled on in trying to find spare chains for this saw. I also saw another thread a comment on that bar set up...

I'm far from a chainsaw expert. The Dolmar is a hand-me-down from my dad and I've never done any work on saws. The only thing I can do is cut with them, sharpen / replace chain, etc. I've found it kind of hard to get chains except from a dealer. It would be nice if I could just pick up some chains from Lowes or something.

In any case, my question is this. Would a different bar with different DL requirements help make buying chains a little easier? Or would it be recommended to stick with the factory setup? I'm not really sure where to start in terms of finding what's compatible.

Any and all opinions are welcome!

That saw should be 68dl which is common for 18" 3/8 it should be easy to find chains. The .325 is 72dl which is also common.

3/8 and .325 are both ok on that saw it comes down to preference really some guys like .325 on 50cc saws and some like 3/8.....i like 3/8

I also have several 18" .325 bars and chains laying around. I am switching my 111 over to 3/8. I am thinking that there are 8-10 good used chains and 4 good used bars

The 64DL bar and chain set up was pretty standard on the 510 and 5100s and I think they make a great combo. Only draw back is that they are a little harder find. Oregon makes one in a pro-lite which may well be what you have as they came on the Dolmar saws (they were branded Dolmar but made by oregon). Total also makes one in their super bar line buttey are usally .058 gauge.

Having said that, an 18" set up with .325 would also work great on the 510 and there are lots and lots of them out there. These saws are easier to fnd bars for than you might think. You can use small mount Husqvarna bars on these (Oregon K095 mount) and Lowes usually has plenty of these. Takes the same bar as a Husqvarna 445, 450 or 455 Rancher.

You could also just try a 16" bar in 3/8 chain as they are usually 60DL, easy to find and you would hardly notice the difference in length.
