So unless you go with a nikasil Meteor (or maybe a Hyway), this is basically what you're gonna get whether you pay $10 or $80 for one of the less costly 192T chrome kits available from most all of the vendors. (I've seen em as low as 9 bux).

The first thing you'll notice in the pic (or should), is the impulse tube. Yes, it prohibits the flywheel from being installed unless being severely cut down in length and bent toward the cylinder to allow any clearance at all between the flywheel and the impulse hose. Absolutely ridiculous. Trimming and bending is do-able, but a redneck approach at best. The easy fix would be to just use the OEM barb from the old cylinder..., if they were the same diameter. Nope. A JB filler fix is required to secure the OEM barb.

The following pics illustrate how severe the barb modification needs to be for the flywheel to clear, though it needed to be bent even further to accommodate the hose..., which now gets very close to either pinching the barb closed or just splitting it. So much for bolt it together and go.

The other less obvious issue is the lack of a bottom pan included with the kit. As should be rather obvious by the amount of sealant used, the cylinder casting doesn't match at all well with the OEM bottom pan and requires quite a bit more than what would be a normal amount of sealant for a leak free crankcase. Machining at the spark plug hole may still leak if re-using the old plug due to an uneven finish. A new plug with fresh washer should conform. (It did for me.) If not, use whatever hi-temp sealant you have handy to seal the plug.

Otherwise, the plating looks ok and the piston is decent enough for what it is..., which is an econo-kit, (but still presumably better than what you're replacing). It'll at least get a 192T running again without spending twice what the saw is worth.

Bottom line if you're shopping for a cheapie kit, be advised on the above..., and don't pay more than you need to for one of these. Should be able to find one for 10 ~ 15 bux including shipping if you shop. It's a customer's saw who had just bought it on CL for homeowner use knowing it had problems, but wasn't willing to put much more into it. $50 seemed reasonable at the time for a top end solution from a reputable vendor. Woulda been if not for all the dickin' around to make it work.

And if anyone has a handy dandy solution to the impulse barb issue, please share.

edit: Turns out the $9.00 kit I saw was from the Farmertec Wholesale Channel and you'd need to buy 100 of em to get that price!.Looks like $20 may be more in the ballpark for the bottom end pricing at the retail level.
