Best option for rebuilding the top end of a Stihl 028 AV

I have used Meteor kit before, but do I have other quality options? Can a bigger piston and cylinder be dropped on?

A super P/C will bolt on. 2mm bigger. I'd look for a good used Stihl cylinder and get a new Stihl or Meteor piston.

Not sure if the Stihl piston is NLA? Pretty sure the P/C kits are not available?

The cylinder actually looks like a piece of the surface flaked off at the bottom of the exhaust port. Piston was scored badly, but rings were still loose.

meteor does make a 028 supor kit 46 mm

If you have a current 2024 price list check 1118 030 2003. That is the 46mm piston

needs a new barrel anyway- wouldn't use that flaking one and given the age a new set of seals i would recomend

So digging through my spare parts, I found this. Looks like the right kit, also have a whole new carb. Also crank seals p/n 9640-003-1600 and 9640-003-1190, think the 1600 are the correct one's for an 028.
