The guys in my shop all run either 200T's or 192's..My 200T has a 14" bar, its mod'd a little and it SCREAMS..it would beat a 192 like a redheaded stepchild..I was doing a maple removal yesterday and had my 200T and my 361 with a 20" in the bucket with me..I kid you not..the 200T whipped the 361 through a 12" spar..Alot of my guys end up buying 2 saws a yr because we use them so much, we simply wear them out, and those of us that have 200T's wouldn't have anything else..I know know its more expensive..and for good reason..I think the 192 is a waste of time..its decent on a good day..and terribly inadequate on a bad one..I'd rather grunt a little more weight to get the extra muscle..when time is money and every second counts..get the tool you'll never be disappointed in..

192's aren't worth the plastic they're made out

Why do people have to make comments like this?

In Aus you can buy a 192 for $595 and 200T for $1549. Of course they are not the fricken same. (reference to the bloke who sprouted the above)

Obviously they created this saw for a place in the market and manufactured and priced it accordingly. Some blokes here have to compare their penises to chainsaws and the crap just rolls off their tongue.

I have not run a 192. The fellow I work with who does the larger more risky takedowns has both the 192 and 200 and simply uses the 200 for bigger limbs hardwoods etc. He also uses his 192 for others and rates the saw. 35 years in a very successful business.

Not long ago I picked up a 200T and am wrapped. I was really suprised at how much grunt this saw has.

My Lord, not their penises? Is that what is wrong with some of these guys? I always wondered what their problem was. I suspected as much though when I mentioned in a post one of my guys runs a 16 inch bar on a 192 and they came unglued saying "Oh, that's too big!! That is much too big! Too big for anything."

$ for $

Nothing wrong with the 192 considering it is half the price of a 200t
they are stihl a good saw IMO
Smaller power head = less power,,,,DUH

Not raggin on the 200 either. They are the mac daddy.
But again $for$ the 192 is a good value
What are your wants? What are your needs?

you pay an extra 280 bucks for the extra .4 hp

Ms200t 2.1 bhp $600
Ms 192tc 1.7 bhp $320

Anybody saying it would be stupid to buy a 192 is not thinking it out very good.

Well it's a penis thing. Didn't you read the above?

Penis, power, it's all the same, right? It's personal preference, mickey. I don't like slow saws, A 16 inch bar is best suited for a 361, IMO. If you wanna a tap your foot and pick your nose while in the cut you can toss a 36 inch bar on that 192 for all I care, but it ain't my style.

So you are short and quick. That's OK.

Well, whatever you are runnin, you're 20 years younger than me. And that makes a lot of difference. Enjoy your youth.

why is something so precious as youth wasted on the young? who said that?

hey blakes. you got a 16 on that 361 you did work to?

murph i'll throw you a bone. and this goes for you too blackened t. take the baffle and spark screen out. throw them in the junk drawer.

go to the HLT screw area and take of that cover....covering them. there is a black limiter cap on the H screw. needle nose plyer that thing. when you pull make sure you pull it straight from the needle so you dont bung the needle itself up. that is all you need to do to this saw. after that richen the screws a touch to get it running just right. fatten a lil bit on both i suggest.

thats all you need to do to this saw.

yes it would be stupid to buy a 192t if you had the money for the 2hunge because you are tight/cheap.

hey murph. you been in the game how long and you just are now running this saw?.......hmmm. whats next stump grinding after hurricanes?

you gotta run the thin bar and chain on the 192 or its a dog compared to the 200... With the thin bar, the 192 can cut a lot faster... good for pruning and some removals... Stihl dealer says you can;t run the thin chain on a 200... They get beat up pretty quick on a 192... To me the extra power is worth paying for the extra chains...

Still its going to dog compared to the ported 200.. Porting a 192 kinda seems like its defeating the prupose.. one thing I like about the 192 is how quiet they are..

Has anyone tried a Makita DCS330TH ?

Engine Displacement: 1.96 cu. in. (32.3 cc.)

Max. Engine Speed: 11,000 RPM

Power Rating: BHP 1.2 kw / 1.6

Sound Pressure Level at the operators ear at full load according to ANSI B 175.1: 100 db(A)

Fuel Tank Capacity: 8.8 oz. (0.25 l)
Oil Tank Capacity: 5.6 oz. (0.16 l)
Recommended Bar Lengths: 12" - 14"
Recommended Spark Plug: NGK BMR 6A or CHAMPION RCJ 8
Chain Pitch & Gauge: 3/8" x .050 low profile
Weight (dry w/o bar & chain): 7 lbs. 15 oz. (3.6 kg)

Just a note about modding chainsaws.

In certian areas, if you do work for National Park Service or some other State Conservation Departments, they sometimes frown on modded saws with open mufflers with out spark arrestors.

hey blakes. you got a 16 on that 361 you did work to?

Work? The only work I did was pull the limiter caps and adjust it a bit, the real work was all Brad. Nothing crazy, just opened the muffler up, and yeah, she screams w/ a 16. It's a bit too much, really. I wanna put an 18 on her and have that as my main climbing/crane saw. Think that'd be a hot little getup.
