At $295 USD (1950 dollars) this would translate to approx $3850 USD in 2024 dollars per online inflation calculators
And people today think $295. Is way too expensive for a chain saw.
Power equipment is the least profitable item compared to what it takes to design, manufacture and assemble for what it is sold for imo.
I understand the 3-25 series of saws was the first McColloch saws to use a Diaphram carburator - hence the point that it can cut in any direction. Previous saws used float carburetors and required the engine to stay upright at all times. That was why the two-man chainsaws had pivots so the bar could be rotated 90 degrees for falling.
