58.1cc, Comes with the original 20" hard nose bar and new chain. 175.00 .The XL Automatic was made from 1965-1967 and was the predecessor to the blue Super XL Automatic. The saw was made in early 1965. This saw is a real survivor, paint is pretty faded, but this saw is all original down to the original air wick fuel filter and cork air filter cover gasket, the felt tank filter is like new, the clutch cover is great shape as are all other components. The cylinder looks great as does the piston and rings. The muffler is in great shape, only replacement part I've found on it was the rim sprocket and one muffler screw. I don't think this saw was used much, if so it was mechanically well cared for. This saw sat without fuel for many years in a garage, I acquired it several years back, but I have three other models like it. This saw runs on prime, but will probably need a new carb kit as the I'm sure the fuel diaphragm is stiff. I really want to keep this saw, but wife's medical bills are mounting. Didn't know they were offered much before the mid 1970's. My Dad bought a blue xl 12 with only a manual oiler about 1972.

The first XL-12 manual oiler was made in early 1963, the first XL auto oiler was made in early 1965, they also made a blue Super XL-12 that was 4cc larger than than the XL-12 in 1964-1965. In 1974 the blue Super XL Automatic was changed to red and black

I owned and used both the XL 12 and super . Tough saws, not shabby on power and speed for their size , tough and long lasting. Vibration never bothered me from them either. I had an Stihl 041 non A/V that was punishing in comparison. Also used a McCulloch 700 That felt like the 041.

I own a Homelite XL500 that sports that same paint scheme, and I believe it is a 1966 and that pinkish color on this saw is not faded from setting out in the sun, they were trying out new colors and I don't believe that this color settled well with the old boys back in the sixties and was discontinued.

I have three XL-500's and many if not dozens of the original literature and brochures shows them red. if not enough hardener is used in red paint they will fade to pink very quickly even without being in the sunlight. This is most pronounced on Mahindra tractors made in India for International, they use almost no hardener because its expensive and within a year the tractor is pink. Homelite used three colors of the blue paint over the years, two shades of the green paint and several shades of the red, varying from Ford red to chevy red orange, but none were pink

I thought it needed a carb kit, turns out it was out of gas, lol, Also I found the original 20" hard nose bar and it is now on the saw with a new chain. It runs great
