well tomorrow may bring death ... how many of you tree men are happy doing what you do ??? im lovin it ... sometimes we got to go the distance for what we do or love right ?? ........... tomorrow i got a tree that no equipment can reach .... huge dead oak broken about 20 feet up with a 40 foot top plus 4 foot dia. log plus....big limbs all slammed into a small ie... 60 foot hickory which is kepping the huge oak from crushing the house ... there are several trees nearby to rope off of but not that close ie. 40 feet......... i plan on using them all .... still worse possible case .... the tree falls........ 'or slides' [even worse] and i take the plunge off a near by tree ..... looking at a near ground swing and a hard slam no matter what .... i use screws to attach me to the mega dangerous trees so if the tree starts to fall the screww will pull and ill ride it out on the near by tree ........or not so near by tree uggg .... where my safety line is set .... hmmmm.... im sure i can pull it off but this one is a doesy .. ......... hey it our job right ........... wish me luck and skill and say a prayer for this one ......thanx jerr

Good luck with your operation tomorrow. Be safe and be careful and take your time. Big obstacles are great oppurtunities. Oh yeah, make sure you priced the job high enough to compensate for your extra worrying

And consider running a highline between two nearby trees and hanging your climbing line more directly overhead so that you can forget that swing to turf/ride to pain or death scenario.

your scenario seems a little sketchy ie i am having difficulty drawing an image in my head of exactly what you are having to deal w/, but it sounds like a good day! have fun be safe. take it easy

we did it thanx guys ... sorry bout the no paragraph thing i can barely type or spell ... it was awesome and no i did not sleep haha...i even let the customer have a price break .. he doesent have alot of money and things went ummm smooth ... yeah smooth ... its was really crazy work acyually enjoyed the challenge and i just put alot of faith in my insurance ...haha .... we set four lines around the dead stuff and oh well you no the story .... hey yes it is hot and humid .... i was really dizzy for most of the job ........ saw the other thread... i dunno how anyone could wear chain saw chaps in this heat ........... dark
