I believe this2003 isuzu npr crew cab has the 5.2 4 cylinder turbo diesel in it and was wondering if they are ok to pull a 7x14 dump. Fully loaded the trailer can be pretty heavy. I plan on using this truck for a chipper down the road but for now will haul the dump trailer behind it. Im seriously thinking of buying one of these but really dont know much about them. Any input on what to check for on truck and engine would be greatly appreciated. Dont know a whole lot on diesels so not sure what to look for.

Before you make the plunge, check into CDL laws for your state. Depending on gvw's, you very well may have to have a CDL The bar for needing a CDL is a lot lower than people think, the fines are insane. Not to mention you are red tagged on the side of the road. Getting ahead of the game here will save you tons of grief. As for being able to tow the trailer, what weight do you plan on towing? 5-7k total weight, no problem as long as trailer brakes are up to snuff, as well as tow vehicle. 14k, too much. If you respond, let us know truck GVW, trailer GVW.

Havent bought a new truck yet, but the trailer is a dump, gvw 14,000. Currently using a chevy 2500 to pull with. Thinking of getting a isuzu frr with the 6 cylinder. In fl you need a cdl for anything over 25,000 lbs
